Song Of The Week #38

Ah, nostalgia – here she comes. Allow me to present a personal favorite of mine:

MuteMath – Blood Pressure

Odd Soul

Mutemath is one of those bands I admire for their unique sound. I have yet to find a group today whose musical prowess can replicate the feel that is Mutemath. My first encounter with this funky group was back when they released this single, Blood Pressure, in 2011. I had just joined a music discussion titled ‘Music Mondays’ in which users posted the tunes that were rocking’ their ears the past week. This came up, and half an hour later I was blasting it on full volume through the mess I call a room.

The band hails from New Orleans and was formed by longtime friends Paul Meany, Darren King, Greg Hill and Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas in 2003. After releasing their first EP the following year, they then went on to release several more albums, with their 2007 single ‘Typical” being eventually nominated for a Grammy.

Blood Pressure is, as an Amazon reviewer puts it, a classic rock song tinged with the blues of the 70’s. Couldn’t have put it better myself.

The song is the third track of their 2011 album Odd Soul.

I was suggested this website by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my difficulty. You’re wonderful! Thanks!

Hey, Jonathan. Sup. Dang, that sounded a bit out-of-character.

Anyway, so, there’s this thing called the “Liebster Award,” some blog award for blogs with under 200 followers. It looked like you had less than 200 followers, unless I’m wrong. I’ve decided to nominate you, whether you like it or not. I hope you like it, though… Yeah, I’m tired.

Anyways, google “Liebster Award” and look at the link below to answer questions about the award thingamajiggy. I’m not sure about it either, but hey, it’s a chance at an award. It wouldn’t hurt that much.

P.S. I’ve enjoyed the song, Blood Pressure, very much. I’ve found the guitar to be especially awesome.

Oh wow, thanks Shinoyo! I’ll be sure to work on this next.

Glad you enjoyed the tune – Mutemath is incredible, and yes the guitar is especially awesome. Check out more of their stuff!

      • Shinoyo says:

Totally checked out some more of their stuff, and I have to say I’m hooked. Got the autoloop button on YouTube, and I’m just listening to their songs, “Chaos,” and “Typical,” etc. I’ll probably keep an eye on them.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to your Liebster response! 🙂

  4. Jonathan says:

Yeah, they’re pretty decent! As to Liebster, I’m writing it as we speak (type. whatever)!
