The Head And The Heart – Couer D’Alene
I don’t often go searching for folk-pop, but when I do, I manage to recover quite a few tasty treats. The Head And The Heart are one of these.
According to my research, this band hails from Seattle, Washington, and was formed by Josiah Johnson and Jonathan Russel in 2009.
After self-releasing their eponymous debut album by word-of-mouth in June of the same year, the group had the pleasure of being signed in to Sub Pop Records two years later, whereupon they re–released the album along with one bonus track.
As to The Head And The Heart’s sound, I quote directly from their Facebook fan page: “think a folksy Beatles or Crosby Stills Nash & Young with more instrumental force”.
I don’t think I could’ve described it better.
Couer D’Alene is the second track on their self-titled album.
Cheers!
